2023 July DITL: "Everything is Awesome" at Legoland!

It was an epic day at Legoland, NY!

First, coffee. We are preparing for a 2-hour drive to our surprise destination.

Breakfast, sunscreen, then pile into the car.

Beautiful morning drive through the Catskills

Ready for a day of fun!

We get there just as the gates are opening

Spot this fun sign on our way into the rides.

We walk through the park to the farthest corner, planning to work our way back to the entrance over the day.

There were so many amazing Lego sculptures everywhere you looked!

First up, "The Dragon"-- the biggest rollercoaster in the park. Nothing like Hershey, but still lots of fun.

CC went to "Driving School" and got a license.

Fire Academy and Coast Guard training

We do the rides in "Ninjago" land, then break for lunch.

We didn't realize this would be one of the hottest days so far this year! Feeling like 105 in the sun, we managed to find a table in the shade to eat our picnic lunch and re-hydrate.

Feeling a bit refreshed, heading to Bricktopia

If you stand in front of these Lego structures, they will play music! We made our own 6-part band

We take advantage of an air-conditioned ride that turns us into "Mini-Lego figures"

We also spend some time building Lego creations. The kids have an absolute blast!

Once we are cooled off, we head into Mini-land

Mini-NYC

Including subway!

The Capitol Building complete with marching band

Everything was very intricate and detailed and so many things were mobile

It is scorching, so we head into the Water Playground where everyone gets soaked on water slides and under sprinklers. It is so needed and we feel lots better when we're through!

We do a last few rides, then head back to repeat our favorites (The Dragon and The Dragon's Apprentice)

The carousel was our last ride of the day and it was magical!

Super J had to pose with all the awesome Lego sculptures one more time.

Ending with an "us-ie" at BRAD-- Big, Red, Awesome Dinosaur!

Drive home; all the kids fell asleep in 5 min

Home again, with pizza for dinner!

Everyone showers and we read some of Harry Potter before an early bedtime

Goodnight DITL-what an awesome day!
