We spent the day having the time of our lives at Universal Studios, Orlando--
Thanks Nana and Grumpa!
We get to the park at 8 am, an hour before the gates officially open and the crowds are small
Grumpa and very excited boys!
We meet our tour guide, Jessica (aka the best guide ever!) who escorts us to breakfast and we plan what rides we want to do/things we want to see
Everyone has very fancy lanyards
Opening of the park... it's going to be a great day!
Jessica spots Optimus Prime, the Transformer, and gets us in to have our photo taken with him. Little J is so excited!
Nana, Grumpa, B, and Daddy all ride on a large rollercoaster, so the littles and I wander around enjoying the New Orleans decorations
We "become" Minions and afterward have our photo taken with Stuart
Going "backstage" at the Jimmy Fallon ride and getting to see the control room. So cool!
B was examined by a character outside The Mummy
And he also said hello to little CC
We tried to ride The Mummy, but it broke down as soon as we walked through the doors! A true "Curse of the Mummy"-- but Jessica saved the day and let us through the bottom of the ride so we could see the massive steel girders holding everything up. She told us there was an old relic from the original King Kong ride left in the building but it can't be seen during The Mummy ride.
Heading toward Diagon Alley, we spy a big shark!
Oh.My.Goodness. So amazing.
Diagon Alley was PERFECT and so detailed. I could have spent all day here, exploring the shops and different nooks and crannies.
The "Monster Book of Monsters" in the bookshop
Ollivander's Wand Shop
Fire Whisky and Butter Beer
The lobby of Gringott's bank
Some other children had interactive wands that turned on different effects throughout this area-- like the umbrella that would "rain"
Heading back for lunch
Boys are hot and tired and HUNGRY. Lunch is a good idea!
So much delicious food, we were all stuffed
Heading out for an afternoon of fun!
At the ET ride
And posing with ET for a green screen effect
And in ET's closet!
Big boys and grownups ride the Woody Woodpecker rollercoaster, so CC and I checked out the Curious George play land-- a great little playground and splash pad to let the smallest kids cool off in the Florida heat!
We spy some Trolls on our way out
Kings Cross station, heading on the Hogwarts train!
Watching people disappear through Platform 9 3/4
We took the Hogwarts Express!
Visiting the village of Hogsmeade
Again, so much attention to detail. It was wonderful!
The Hogwarts castle
CC is having a great day!
After Hogwarts, we head over to the Jurassic Park section
And ride the Raptor Falls ride-- check out little J's face! Priceless.
Walking through Toon Town
And spy some Superheroes!
Our last ride with Jessica was the Hulk rollercoaster-- one of B's favorites!
Jessica leaves us for the day and we finish our time at Universal in Seuss Landing
Everyone rides the Caro-Seuss-el and has a great time, despite the long faces here!
CC and I walk around enjoying the sights while everyone else rides the elevated trolley around Seuss Landing.
Sneetch Beach
Some very Dr. Seuss-like plants
Which way to Schenectady?
Our dinner is at the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium, where we eat far too much
Cheers to a once-in-a-lifetime day!
Desserts are ridiculously over-the-top milkshakes which we take back to the hotel and eat for breakfast the next day.
Describing their favorite rides of the day
When we get back, the boys reveal their special souvenirs
Harry Potter wands!
CC and Grumpa play til it's time for bed. What a great day!
