We spend a Saturday in July with friends and family!
Morning at the camp with Nana...
...and playing cards with Grumpa.
Daddy and brothers set off in the rain to catch some big fish for the annual fishing derby.
Sister CC and I head out for a birthday party!
It's going to be a fun day at the farm for a birthday party.
First is a walk around the different barns to see the animals, including this goat.
The cows are sitting quietly in the sunshine.
We visit the peacock, who puts on a big show.
And this chicken is just ridiculous.
There is the chance to pet a miniature horse.
CC loves him and the bunny that she gets to pet as well.
The girls listen to a story about dairy farming.
Then we head into the goat enclosure, where CC makes an instant friend.
Both girls love the goats!
After a break for some lunch and birthday cake, we get to go on a hayride!
We visit the nursery barn with the newborn calves.
And the milk parlor where we see how this big dairy farm works-- it's incredibly efficient and there's so much new technology used to keep things running smoothly.
CC waves to all the cows before we head back to our car.
Meanwhile, back at the lake, all three boys have caught fish they are very proud of!
CC and I head back to the lake and catch up with Papa and Daddy. It's almost time for the fishing derby awards.
It's finally turned into a gorgeous afternoon and all the kids spend time swimming together.
The big kids play "King of the Raft".
No one is "King" for very long!
Popsicles are enjoyed.
CC is having a blast!
Every child gets a towel, candy, fishing bobber, and kazoo during the awards ceremony.
They are all very excited!
The fishing derby 2020 winner was cousin Luke with a 3.5 pound, 25 inch pike!
Dinner is devoured by all the hungry children.
The rain has returned! Time to head back for bed.
Everyone is slightly soaked and sunburned.
The rain is really heavy during our drive from one camp to the next.
We watch an episode of "NOVA" about peregrine falcons to end the evening.
Grumpa and CC play cards again before bed.
Super J falls asleep almost immediately. It's been a long, exciting day for everyone.
