2023 June DITL: The Jimmy Awards!

We made a 24-hour whirlwind trip to NYC for The Jimmy Awards, where JP had a student nominee! What an exciting time.

Leisurely morning at home, without the children. They are staying with grandparents up north while we have this mini-adventure.

Breakfast, then take Pepper for a quick walk.

I'm afraid we'll forget one of our to-dos, so jot down a quick list. (Spoiler: We manage to get everything accomplished!)

Feed the fish before we leave. Make a mental note to also clean their tank when we return.

Packing, light lunch, and some quiet reading

Set up a surprise birthday present before we head out the door. Someone's turning FIVE today!

Throughout the drive

Check into our icebox of a room.

View from Dave & Desi's room-- check out the abandoned broom and single shoe!

Take the elevator to the roof. Not sure we're supposed to be up here...

A quick walk to Central Park

The Literary Mall and Women's Rights statue (with Susan B Anthony, Sojourner Truth and Elizabeth Cady Stanton)

Beauty in Central Park

... and on our walk back to the hotel

Drinks and Dinner!

Fit check in the lobby

On our way to the show!

We're here! What an amazing show!

The Jimmy Awards are held at the Minskoff Theatre which is hosting The Lion King most nights. The wooden lion mask above the escalators is gorgeous.

We find L afterward! He's happy, exhausted, and so thrilled to have had this opportunity.

Proud teachers

Walk back to the hotel through a rainstorm.

Change into dry clothes and fall into bed.
Good night, DITL! See you in July.
