2018 February DITL: Field Trip to Kennedy Space Center

Our February DITL took us to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida

Sunrise over the ocean; view from our balcony

Proof that we visited the ocean yesterday. (Boys slept over at the grandparent's place, so it's a quiet morning)

Quick stop at Walgreens to get some new sunglasses

Head over to pick up the boys

Someone is happy to see us!

View from the grandparent's balcony shows the construction vehicles hard at work

Packed in the car and headed out!

Almost there...

A long walk across the (hot) parking lot

Ticket station looks other-wordly

Waiting to get through security...

... to see these ROCKETS

Rocket-loving boys are very excited

Climbing into a model

Pretending to be Apollo astronauts

And most important, burn off some energy in the play structure

Most of the open exhibits we visited focused on plans to colonize Mars

This Mars rover model was built from Legos

Returned SpaceX probe

A fun-filled family morning

Back to the grandparents' for lunch and swimming time

This guy tries to nap, without success

Brief rainstorm when we're leaving for dinner

It's clear again when we get to the Sandbar

Playing with the bobble-head man

Ice cream post-dinner

With mini-golf

In hindsight, this was a disaster. Taking turns is not in a 2-year old's vocabulary

Brush teeth, then time for bed!
