While the boys are away on vacation, the girls had a quiet (but busy) day at home!
Start the morning with coffee (for Mama) and Cheerios (for CC)
It is very quiet without all the boys clamoring for multiple breakfasts
CC spends some time climbing like a mountain goat llama on the back of the couch
Take a moment to start some laundry
Mama and CC get showered and dressed (and we match today!)
One of our projects while the boys are gone is to completely clean all the bedding
Fresh sheets ready for their return on Friday!
CC insists on packing "Elsa cheese" for her snack at daycare
(She is so excited about bringing this snack, that she starts to gnaw through the plastic covering on the drive to daycare)
Bye CC-- have a great day with friends!
Arrive at work. It's going to be a busy day!
Matching with CC in red sweaters
First-- proctor my exam
Second-- print and read articles for Friday
Third-- evaluate exam results
Fourth-- teach
Fifth-- provide comments/feedback on a student's paper
Heading home! Going to run some errands first
Post errands (bank, grocery, hardware store) and picking up CC from daycare
She wants "up" all the time I'm trying to unpack
Start cooking dinner-- while the boys are away, CC and I enjoy a shrimp stir fry
It's suspiciously quiet while I'm cooking-- I find her making a mess of the books upstairs
Time to eat! CC devours at least 15 shrimp and shouts for more. She also enjoys the tops of the broccoli and the rice noodles (not the bell peppers)
A little leg stretch while eating never hurts
After dinner, Mama cleans up while CC takes her Baby Shark backpack on an adventure
Then she colors while Mama sorts and recycles a pile of papers
We cuddle and watch some TV before bed.
FaceTime with brothers in Florida too!
CC has to make a mess right before it's time to go upstairs (of course!). She is a good sport and helps to clean up. We change into pajamas, read a couple stories, and she goes to sleep.
I head to the basement for some more work on my project-- refinishing our kitchen table! It's looking lots better every day.
Good night, DITL! See you in March for another adventure!
